Dogs, Psychology, and Art! Oh My!

I am an art and psychology student going to college at this point in time. I specialize in traditional art and I am an aspiring photographer. My subjects range anywhere from fan art for series (be it television, anime/manga, novels, etc.) to original work through traditional art mediums and photography. Besides my love for art and psychology, I love animals. Animals have always been a huge part of my life and I would hope to do something with animals as a career one day. I am an advocate for the adoption of animals and highly discourage buying from backyard breeders/puppy mills.

In the realm of dogs, Border Collies and Border Collie mixes are my personal cup of tea as far as dog breeds go. Their intelligence, energy, and their strong desire to please make them perfect companions for myself. But I do have experience with many varieties of dogs and I love all breeds and temperaments of dogs. However, I do have breeds that are especially dear to me for various reasons. These breeds include Border Collies (of course), German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, Australian Shepherds, Rough and Smooth Collies, Doberman Pinschers, Labrador Retrievers, Bearded Collies, Old English Sheepdogs, Australian Cattle Dogs, Bichon Frises, Sighthounds in general, Coonhounds, Boxers, Cairn Terriers, Shar Peis, Bull Terriers, Dalmatians, and the beloved mixed breed (aka Heinz 57 or mutt). Rest assured though, I love all shapes, sizes, breeds, and energies of dogs.

Almost all of our animals are rescues from shelters or ones I came across that were dumped. We have three beautiful and intelligent Border Collie mixes (all rescues), Asher, Nellie, and our most recent addition, Teddy. These dogs are my life. In addition to my dogs, we have our cats; Oranges, Candy, Atticus, Vincent, Sophie, and Jeanie (Rest assured, they all don't all live together! Atticus and Vincent live with my grandmother while the others live with my mother.), and my two hermit crabs; Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, (Rosencrantz, and Guildenstern are the only animals in the homestead which were not adopted from a rescue. They came from a reputable local pet store.).

Favorite cartoon character: I can't choose just one! So here's a list in no particular order from the main series/films I enjoy.

~ The Slayers: Rezo the Red Priest, Eris, Ozel, Zelgadis, Lina Inverse, Amelia, and pretty much all the characters from this splendid series.

~ Adventure Time: Marceline the Vampire Queen, Ice King, BMO, Gunter, and Cake.
